EXPERIENCE WITH VUE

During my school days, learning was a very boring process. We had the same monotonous schedule every day with hardly any teaching aid used. The main problem with English as a subject was that it was taken very lightly. We considered it a free period and even teachers took it very lightly. It was a pain to go to school every day,but we had no choice except to do so. If i had been given a choice to drop out I would have done so without any regret.

When I got to know about the concept map in my EPC-ICT classes, I was excited to learn something new. I thought that if ever I was going to be a teacher i would never let my students get bored and would bring new learning aids in the class. Visual Understanding Environment is one such tool which is colourful yet simple learning tool for students. Firstly, students are very excited with the new modes of teaching.Secondly, they can easily comprehend, understand, and keep it as notes for future references. Studies become much more fun when there is no burden and you can understand in simple terms. I am very happy that I have learnt this program and it can be easily used in classes.

It was fun to make these concept maps. I was very enthralled to go back to class sixth grammar books and make something new. Even evaluating other group’s work was a good experience. I have got several ideas as to how to make my work more colourful, more comprehensive. Overall it was a very good learning experience.

TOPIC : MACAVITY- THE MYSTERY CAT

A well organised, comprehensive and colourful concept map with proper linking words. The themes, vocabulary, poetic devices are mentioned properly for the young mind to understand. Mention of difficult words and examples is appreciable. Only problem that a young mind may face is in understanding the themes. It can be simplified for a clear understanding.

PARTICIPANT 2 : DEEPIKA KHARI

The blogger has not taken the topic of ENGLISH DISCIPLINE.

PARTICIPANT 3 : MEENAKSHI

A well spaced, clear , hierarchal concept map from a poem of class VII, Oxford textbook. However, it is limited to cat’s only and doesn’t talk about metaphorical implications i.e. man’s life. It lacks examples which help in better understanding. It is comprehensive but lacks a thorough conceptualisation. More themes, figure of speech and more of language sklills could be introduced. Less focus on linguistic aspect. Title could be explained so that one has an overview of the chapter.

Myself

Hello! You all can identify me with my blog name “strikingclock” and must have wondered who am i? What was the reason behind this artificial name and who really i am? All this i will be disclosing in this post since i want my readers to know who they are following and what are my intentions to write the posts.

My name is Anjali Yadav. I have done my graduation in English Literature from Hindu College and i am currently doing B.ed from Central Institute of Education, Delhi University. Since I am from a literature background, i am interested in reading all sorts of books. This may also explain my thought behind such a fanciful name. I love to reflect upon various issues in my free time so whenever a good thought comes,i just try to to share it with all of you no matter the time. I believe that time is just a human construction. There is an artificial clock in our minds which tells us what to do and when to do? My motive behind this blog writing is to share my thoughts with everyone and not to limit them to myself. I want to broaden my understanding by interacting with people from various backgrounds and what platform other than this is good enough for this purpose?

WHY B.ED?

My admission to b.ed was just by chance. All i can say is anything can happen in life.I was planning to do MA in English or some job but in no way it was a planned decision. I filled the form just because my family wanted me to. I was pretty sure that wouldn’t get through the entrance. But when the results came i got through both the entrances b.ed and English. So again it was a point of conflict whether to take admission in masters or b.ed. My family suggested me to go for b.ed since it is a professional course. So admission to Central Institute of Education was just by luck. i always wanted to be a teacher but never thought of pursuing the professional course. I am just exploring the new world.

LONELINESS

Beginning a journey with a cry,

a soul as if complaining to God.

Why you made a paradise ,

if it was meant to be lost?

Cursing Eve for her actions,

and blaming Satan for the act,

A soul gets prepared to suffer the thorns of life.

The more it lives,

the more it suffers.

The more it tries ,

the more it falls.

Climbing the ladder of success,

leads him into the well of anxieties.

At no point is it free,

from the shackles of difficulties.

From childhood it has been taught,

to fight for its share.

Adulthood tells him to kill happiness of others,

to grow its garden of roses.

To wear the crown of treachery,

and of adultery.

It teaches him to snatch the share of others,

to fill his hunger,

to decorate his throne of greediness,

with sweat of helpless.

Its blood still burns,

and with it burns the relations.

The relations with whom he was tied from his birth.

One by one the heads fall,

And he moves on with its head high.

Not giving a look at what is lost.

It moves alone in its journey ,

and finally is left alone.

No one to mourn.

This is the life of a mortal.

In the race of becomming immortal,

every soul suffers similar things differently.

The ability to face similar things differently sets them apart.

One outstands and  the other dies commonly.

the gold passes on but life stops.

What is left is a few decorated teàrs.

Which too, dry in the heat of gold.

Soul is left wondering on the decorations of the world ,

that blinded him from the truth.

HUMILITY

A strength in females,

A weakness in males,

This is what it is now-a-days,

Gendered.

Centuries back,

it was an asset everyone possessed,

Be it a Trojan war hero,

Or Mahabharata warrior.

Oh Mortal man,

“Thou shalt speak with humility,

Treat your brothers with kindness and respect”.

So spoke the God.

But now, O dear Aidos,

What happened to your blessing?

Art thou angry?

Or are you sad?

Why have you devoid us,

Of your love and blessings?

Or are we not capable enough,

To deserve it?

Have we fallen so much,

In our temptation?

That we have become empty vessels without any feelings.

Our greed has exceeded so much,

That we have forgotten softness of heart and pureness of soul.

Have we not then become a Satan,

Who tempted Eve using cunningness and humility?

Have we not become Shakuni,

planning the fall of others?

O Aidos! Your gift is powerful,

More than the strength of Zeus.

Because what you can melt,

Zeus cannot.

Oh Goddess, i beseech you,

To shower your blessings,

Upon each one of us,

To make our earth a second paradise.

Where everyone is full of kindness,

No one is sugar-coated candy but a candy full of sugars.

So that we can see,

The Golden Age once again.
